Server log files
When this website is accessed, our hosting provider automatically records information in what are known as server log files, which your browser transmits. This usually includes the IP address, the date and time of the request, the page accessed, the browser and operating system used and the previously visited page (referrer URL). This data serves the technical provision and protection of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in stable and secure operation) and is not merged with other data sources.
Contact form
If you contact us via the enquiry form, we process the data you provide (name, email address, telephone number, message) in order to deal with your enquiry and for any follow-up questions (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, pre-contractual measure). We do not pass this data on without your consent. It is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to deal with your enquiry, unless statutory retention obligations prevent this.
Your enquiry is sent from our server to our message inbox at Crisp IM SAS (see Chat); we answer it from there by email. Crisp stores the data on servers in the Netherlands and processes it on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Your browser does not connect to Crisp in the process, and no cookies are set.
Third-party services embedded
Fonts, scripts and images are served exclusively from our own server. Neither Google Fonts nor tracking or advertising services are embedded. When you access these pages, your browser therefore connects to one further server only for audience measurement (see below) — and for two services that you allow yourself: the map on the contact page and the chat. We ask about both in a notice on your first visit; you can change or withdraw your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Audience measurement (Matomo)
To see which pages are read, we count page views with the Matomo software. It does not run at an analytics provider but on a server in Austria that we operate ourselves. When you open a page, your browser loads a script from this server for this purpose and transmits the page viewed, date and time, the page you came from, browser, operating system and screen size, as well as your IP address, which is shortened before it is stored. No cookies are set, and the data is not passed on to third parties.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website on the basis of usage figures (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to this at any time: the following button switches off the measurement in this browser; your browser remembers this in local storage.
Google Maps
On the contact page you can load a map from Google Maps. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The map is only loaded when you allow it in the notice on cookies and external services or click "Load map from Google Maps"; before that there is no connection to Google. When it loads, your browser transmits data to Google, in particular your IP address, and Google may set cookies. Data may also be transferred to servers in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you give it in the notice, your browser stores the choice for twelve months and the map loads without another click; if you give it by clicking the map, it applies only to the page view in question. You can withdraw it at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. How Google handles your data is described in Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Without the map you can also reach us via the "Plan route" link, which only opens Google Maps in a new window when you click it.
Chat
On every page you can write to us via a chat. The provider is Crisp IM SAS, 2 Boulevard de Launay, 44100 Nantes, France. The chat is only loaded when you allow it in the notice on cookies and external services; before that there is no connection to Crisp. When it loads, your browser transmits data to Crisp, in particular your IP address, and Crisp stores cookies that restore your conversation when you move between pages and on a later visit; they expire after six months. The messages and any details you provide in the chat are stored on servers in the Netherlands. To speed up connections, Crisp also uses relay servers in the USA, the United Kingdom and Singapore; no messages are stored there, but connection data is (IP address, time, browser identifier and referring page). Crisp processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and, where you make an enquiry, its handling (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your browser stores your choice for twelve months; during that time the chat loads on every page so that replies reach you. You can withdraw it at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page; Crisp's cookies are then deleted. We delete the conversation history as soon as it is no longer needed to handle your enquiry, unless statutory retention obligations apply. How Crisp handles your data is described in Crisp's privacy policy: crisp.chat/en/privacy. Without the chat you can also reach us by phone, email and the form on the contact page.
Cookies
This website uses only technically necessary processes to deliver the page; no analytics or marketing cookies are set, and the audience measurement also works without cookies. If you load the map from Google Maps (see above), Google may set its own cookies. If you allow the chat (see above), Crisp sets cookies that restore your conversation. Your browser itself stores your choice regarding chat and map (in local storage, for twelve months) so that the notice does not appear on every visit; it is not transmitted to us.
